Southwell Baptist Church is an extended family of bible-believing Christians who aim to see Jesus lifted high by means of:

  • Wholehearted prayer
  • Committed discipleship
  • Our fellowship together
  • A clear witness
  • And serving the community.

An Extended Family
Within SBC you will find every age group and some who are not yet fully part of the family.
We are a growing family; some have been with us just a few months, the longest serving member has been with us over 48 years.
Many of us originated in other denominations, enriching our family.

Bible-Believing Christians
We accept the scriptures of the Old and New Testament as the authoritative word of God.
It is useful for teaching us how to live the Christian life together; how to correct inappropriate behaviour and equiping us to live real lives in the real world.
The ammount of time we spend considering the bible reflects our belief in its importance for our lives.

Who aim to see Jesus
We want to reflect Jesus to each other and the world around us, and to grow in knowing him together.

Wholehearted worship and prayer
We endeavour to show our appreciation of God in the way we [meet with and relate to God]
In our services this can at times be quite enthusiastic. Prayer...

Committed Discipleship
We aim to live by the teachings of Jesus with integrity in every aspect of our lives.
We are dedicated to helping one another grow into all that God made us to be.

Our Fellowship together
We recognise that this means more than just praying and singing together, but sharing all of what it means to be family with one another. We will equally eat, pray, worry, grieve, and celebrate together.

A Clear Witness
The centre of all that we do is to show, as well as tell, the wonder of God's plan for us and his world.

Serving Our Community
We see our many roles in the local community, such as our Youth and Children's work, the availablity of our premises, or caring for the elderly, as vital in demonstrating God's love for our community.
